The Perfect Road Trip: Why The 2015 Cadillac ATS Coupe Is One Of America's Best

The award-winning 2015 ATS Coupe, a speedier and more individualized addition to the ATS product range, was unveiled by Cadillac. It carries on Cadillac’s legacy of sporty luxury Coupes and the brand’s design philosophy of being lighter, more responsive, and more engaging than its rivals.

The 3.6L six-cylinder engine and rear-wheel drive are standard on Cadillac’s first-ever small premium Coupe. As a result, the ATS Coupe offers thrilling performance with efficiency and a segment-leading power-to-weight ratio. It does this by using its lightweight and sturdy frame.

The balanced performance and responsive qualities of the ATS Coupe are influenced by a number of factors, including:

  • Low center of gravity and almost perfect weight distribution
  • Lightweight, high-strength steel and effective straight-link designs are used to create the five-link independent rear suspension.
  • A front suspension having a direct-acting stabilizer bar and many links with double pivots
  • Aerodynamic underbody shields
  • Premium ZF Steering Systems electric variable-effort belt-driven steering gear
  • Front brakes by Brembo
  • 18-inch aluminium wheels

There is a driver-adjustable FE3 sport suspension that comes with 18-inch summer performance tires, a mechanical limited-slip differential, high engine cooling capacity, and Magnetic Ride Control. Real-time dampening technology known as Magnetic Ride Control allows for more accurate body motion control. It is able to adjust damping every millisecond by “reading” the road.

1. Design specifications

The 2015 ATS Coupe has a separate body but has the same 277.6 cm wheelbase as the sedan. The Coupe has its own roof, doors, rear fenders, and trunk lid in addition to a separate front fascia and front fenders that allow for a wider track than the sedan. Additionally, it is the first production vehicle to have the updated Cadillac crest.

In addition, the Coupe has a more aggressive posture than the sedan thanks to larger front and rear tracks, low overhangs, and tautly wrapped sheet metal around the tires. The only vehicle with standard 18-inch wheels is the Coupe.

The ATS Coupe continues the Cadillac history of bold lighting components by offering optional light-emitting diode, or LED, headlights with Adaptive Forward Lighting. High-intensity discharge headlights and front vertical LED light signatures are provided, and projector-beam headlamps are standard on all models. The unique Coupe has a technologically sophisticated design and functionality thanks to its illuminated outside door handles. The rear-center stop light and LED taillamps are standard on all models.

2. ATS Coupe Fuelling is Capless As Well.

The Coupe’s interior carries over the sedan’s driver-focused design elements, including handcrafted cut-and-sewn upholstered interior combinations, decorative stitching, and genuine materials like leather, aluminum, carbon fiber, and wood, all of which are designed to strengthen the emotional connection to driving.

There are several interior color schemes to choose from, each with its own accent trim options. These themes range from light, open, and warm to dark and somber to strong technological and athletic.
