It comes with amazing features like the Hyperscreen, a screen that stretches across the entire dashboard. I think it’s a great option for those looking for an electric car that falls between Tesla’s compact Model 3 and mid-size Model S.
Fast-charging capabilities enable the EQE to charge its battery from 10 to 80 percent in just 30 minutes, giving it a driving range of over 300 miles. The first released will be the EQE350+ and EQE350 4Matic with a single motor and RWD and 288 horsepower.
But the EQE500, which has dual motors and all-wheel drive with 402 horsepower, will come out later. I’m excited to share more about this car because it’s another great electric option on the market with impressive features and performance.

What’s New For 2023?
The EQE is a new addition to Mercedes-Benz’s lineup and is positioned below the EQS, which is more luxurious. I recommend going for the entry-level EQE350+ which comes with plenty of attractive features.
These include a Burmester 15-speaker system, wireless charging pad for smartphones, in-dash navigation, heated power front seats, automatic high-beam headlamps, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, and more.
To make the EQE350+ even better, I suggest adding the Exclusive Trim package. This unlocks additional tech features such as adaptive cruise control, ambient interior lighting, and an augmented reality navigation feature.
2023 Mercedes EQE Power & Performance
The EQE350+ has a single electric motor located on its rear axle, which produces 288 horsepower and 391 pound-feet of torque. According to Mercedes, this allows the sedan to go from 0 to 60 mph in just 5.6 seconds, with a top speed of around 130 mph.
The EQE350 4Matic adds an extra electric motor to power the front wheels, but it still only has a total output of 288 horses. If you want more power, the EQE500 has dual electric motors that deliver a combined 402 horsepower.
All three configurations come with the option of an air suspension and an RWD. Car & Driver tested the EQE350 and found it to be quiet and speedy, with the EQE350 4Matic hitting 60 mph in just 5.3 seconds. While it’s quick, the EQE isn’t the most agile car on the road.
Its handling isn’t as satisfying as rivals like the BMW i4 and Tesla Model 3, and the steering wheel and brake pedal both feel somewhat artificial. Nonetheless, the EQE is a comfortable and quiet ride.
2023 Mercedes EQE Exterior Styling
Mercedes refers to the EQE sedan’s design as a “one-bow, cab-forward design.” The futuristic vehicle has a sleek, coupe-like shape that stretches over the greenhouse. Mercedes-EQE features sculpted surfaces, short overhangs at the front and rear, and muscular shoulders.
Although it may lack parts of the formality that is typically associated with Mercedes, such as the black nose’s tiny headlights and faux grille. The continuous light strip that runs over the back of Mercedes-EQ cars is one of their distinctive features.
The flowing style might, however, lack some of the customary Mercedes formality. The EQE 350’s hood cannot be opened, hence there is no front trunk or “frunk.” The EQE sedan’s front fender has a pop-out filler nozzle for windscreen washer fluid.
2023 Mercedes EQE Interior, Cargo, & Comfort
As soon as you step inside the EQE, you’re greeted with a sleek design and luxurious materials, like seat covers. You will also realize there is ample passenger space and cubby storage. The dashboard turns into a massive glass panel with several displays if you choose the Hyperscreen.
The front seats come standard with heating and ventilation and are separated by a floating center console. You can upgrade these seats with massage functions for even more comfort. Yet, while the interior is lovely, I wish the outward visibility was better.

EQEs also have a panoramic sunroof and customizable ambient lighting that traces the dashboard and doors. Other options to jazz up the cabin include a head-up display, four-zone climate control, and automatic door openers.
The EQE’s skateboard-like electric platform offers comfortable passenger accommodations and competitive cargo capacity.
2023 Mercedes EQE Infotainment & Tech
The EQE’s infotainment system boasts of the optional Hyperscreen. It is a large 56-inch long display consisting of three screens behind a single glass panel. The sweeping interface includes a 12.3-inch instrument cluster screen, a 17.7-inch central touchscreen, and a 12.3-inch front passenger screen.
I find the MBUX software highly impressive as it offers features without requiring me to go through menus or voice commands. However, if you don’t opt for the Hyperscreen, the EQE comes with a standard infotainment system with a 12.3-inch touchscreen.
This system has a fingerprint scanner and features like the Burmester speaker system and a wireless charger. Testing revealed that the navigation system misplaced the augmented reality feed and displayed the route unnecessarily on three screens.
2023 Mercedes EQE Class Charging, Range, & Battery Life
The EQE sedan comes with a 90.6-kWh battery pack that can offer a driving range of over 300 miles. Mercedes claims that this battery can be charged using a 240-volt Level 2 charger, taking around 9.5 hours to go from 10 to 100 percent.
On the other hand, if you use a DC fast charger, the EQE can charge its battery from 10 to 80 percent in just 31 minutes, as per Mercedes. I feel this is quite impressive and shows how much electric vehicle technology has improved in recent years.
2023 Mercedes EQE Fuel-Economy
The EQE’s fuel economy ratings from the EPA are not yet available. However, Car & Driver conducted their own 75-mph fuel-economy test and found that the EQE350 test car achieved 67 MPGe and had a highway range of 260 miles.
